During the course, you will be gradually introduced to the fundamentals of Altium Designer®. You will learn how to configure the program, explore the user interface, and use essential features and tools. A particular focus is placed on using the Altium 365® Cloud Workspace, ensuring that all exercises and project work are conducted directly in the cloud. The course covers all fundamental concepts required for schematic and PCB layout design, including component creation in Altium 365®, component placement, routing techniques, and generating manufacturing data.
Throughout the course, you will have the opportunity to complete hands-on exercises to deepen your understanding and reinforce your skills. You will learn how to create your own project, design schematics, create and position components, and optimize PCB layouts. Additionally, you will be introduced to best practices for troubleshooting and ensuring the functionality and reliability of your designs. - Understanding key panels and their functions (Projects Panel, Properties Panel, Components Panel, Schematic Library Panel, PCB Library Panel, etc.)
- Setting up a new project and organizing project files
(Managed Project in Altium 365®) - Schematic pages, PCB documents, Draftsman documents, and Outjob files
- Customizing settings and options to individual needs
- All essential options related to the PCB project (Project Options)
- All system settings of Altium Designer® (DXP Preferences)
- Creating and editing schematics:
- Setting up schematic pages
- Creating schematic symbols
- Placing components from internal and external libraries
- Wiring the schematic
- Using Net Labels, Power Ports, Ports, and Buses
- PCB layout design:
- Creating PCB footprints for components
- Defining board outlines and design rules
- Placing components on the PCB
- Routing PCB traces
At the end of the course, you will be familiar with the fundamental functions of Altium Designer® and capable of creating your own projects, designing schematics, and developing PCB layouts. You will have a solid understanding of best practices and techniques to create high-quality and functional PCB designs.
